Most young people have no clue what to "do" when it comes to getting a job. Filling out an application, making a resume, what to wear or how to act are all things that make "getting a job" scary. Well, we'd like to help calm those interview jitters!
On Sunday, February 12th, we will be holding "mock" job interviews for teens ages 13 - 18. Interviews will be conducted by the Lead Transportation Manager of Terminal Operations for the Long Island Rail Road. He is responsible for all daily train operations and manipulations, as well as, supervising all crews and Transportation Managers within Penn Station. He also conducts the interviews for incoming Assistant Conductors.
Our goal, with the Interview Workshop, is help prepare our young people for their future and give them the necessary tools to be successful when joining the workforce.
We will be holding an Informational Meeting for all parents and youth on Sunday, February 5 at 12pm, at the Ridge Full Gospel Church. At this meeting we will go over what they can expect and how to prepare.
On Sunday, February 12th at 12pm, we will be holding the "job interviews." They will be conducted in a very real and life-like way. All youth will be called in, interviewed and given helpful feedback on how they did.
If you would like to participate in our Interview Workshop, please fill out the form below. Space is limited and spots will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. Please note, in order to participate in the Interview Workshop, all parents and youth must attend Informational Meeting on February 5th.
